Julie HammersteinAs an official MBS Nutritionist for Kids, I teach families to “take back” their health by eating right, exercising together and creating a “culture” of healthy living within the home. My expertise transforms the mind-set of every family-member, whether four or forty, to lovingly break down barriers to health, and build new strategies that work! Through personal consultation and family coaching, I have created a winning formula to Educate, Empower, and Explore new ways to raise healthy, happy families in a busy world. I also share this message through my keynotes and seminars, and most recently as the Nutritional Life-Coach on a TV documentary called, “Fitting In”. With a strong focus on childhood obesity, my goal is to eradicate this disease by 2011.

Inactivity due to TV and video games, unhealthy school lunches and vending machines, hectic schedules, drive-thru dinners and minimal family time have become serious risk-factors. With all these obstacles, it’s no wonder why:

+ 1 in 3 Children is Clinically Obese

+ Children as young as 7 & 8 years old are diagnosed with Type II Diabetes (more commonly in adults over 40)

+ Kids at 10-19 years old are being treated with prescription medications for hypertension and high cholesterol

+ More commonly, kids are showing increased signs of fatigue, cravings, anxiety, depression and a tendency towards sedentary lifestyles

But let’s move away from the fear factor!

Yes, we want to protect our kids from potential health issues, but more importantly, we want to save our kids from mediocrity. These are our future leaders! We should give them every opportunity to thrive and achieve their personal best!

The solution? Empowerment. It’s about creating a culture in your home that is so much a part of who you are, that there is absolutely NO turning back!
